The NH Doelen Hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam alongside the river Amstel between Rembrandtplein and Dam square. At walking distance you will find the flower market, theatres, museums, department stores, boutiques and canal touring boats, all in the historical centre.

Built in 1883, the original architecture and furnishings make this hotel distinctive. As it is only a short walk away from the city centre this hotel is placed among historical buildings and attractions. The NH Doelen Hotel portrays a life-style reflecting the middle 1800's when famous and infamous guests were made to feel at ease in the majestic surroundings. Great care has been taken to preserve the unique decor. The main entrance hall and reception are crowned by the beautiful open staircase leading to the hotel rooms. Original and lovingly restored furniture is still to be found throughout the hotel. The hotel boasts a variety of famous and artisitic guests including Queen Victoria, The Beatles and the Empress Sissi who has a room named after her.

The hotel consists of one roof top suite, five salons, eighty fully equipped business class hotel rooms. WiFi, high speed internet is available on the ground and first floor. The location of the hotel is indicated on the accompanying map (click for zoom-in). The hotel's jetty means that you can arrive and travel around the city by boat. You can even be picked up for a boat tour through the city's canals from here.

The Albus Grand Hotel was built in 2000 in the historic center of Amsterdam and meets the requirements of a 3 star deluxe hotel. All 74 bedrooms are elegant, spacious and tastefully decorated. All are very stylish and have a bathroom, hairdryer, tv, telephone, writing desk with high-speed internet connection. This new hotel is surrounded by some of the Amsterdam's most well-known points of interest. Within a one-minute walk you will reach the Floating Flower Market, the bustling Rembrandt's Square and the most famous shopping street in the Netherlands,""The Kalverstraat"". Trams bring you from The Central Railway Station (Amsterdam Centraal) to the stop closest to the hotel (diagonally across the street) in a short 5 minutes. Tram, bus and the KLM airport shuttle stop in front of the hotel. The RAI Congress and Exhibition Centre is only 10 minutes by Tram 4.

Travel to & from Hotel

Car: there is a car park (Stopera) only 5 minutes walking distance from the hotels.
Rate is approximately Euro 32 for 24 hours !

Taxi: from the airport to the centre of Amsterdam a taxi will take at least Euro 40 !

Airport Shuttle:
NH Doelen hotel: a free shuttle service to and from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is available for guests travelling by train or air. This service bus runs every 20 minutes from the shuttle bus area at the airport. Requested journeys only between 01.00 and 06.00. The Airport Shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel.

Train: From the airport to Amsterdam Central Station there is an excellent and highly frequent trainservice. The journey takes around 15 minutes. Also see train information at practical information.

To get from Amsterdam Central Station to the hotels there are a few options:

Walking: Amsterdam Central Station is only a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Taxi: expensive

Tram: Only 2 minutes away from the hotels there are several tram stops. Guests of both NH Doelen and Albus Grand hotel should target for tram stop Muntplein. You can take the following trams from Amsterdam Central Station to stop Muntplein:

          1.      tram 4      direction station RAI
          2.      tram 9      direction Diemen Sniep
          3.      tram 16     direction VU medisch centrum
          4.      tram 24     direction Stadionplein
          5.      tram 25     direction President Kennedylaan
