Research

I work in the field of Extragalactic Astronomy, studying how galaxies formed and evolved in the first few billion years of cosmic time. My studies are conducted with astronomical observations taken with world-class infrared and optical telescopes. Currently, my main focus is on the scientific exploitation of James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) observations, as part of the JWST MIRI European Guaranteed-Time Team. I am also involved in the scientific preparation for Euclid, which will be launched in 2023.

Since mid 2022 my Research is funded by an NWO Vici Grant.
