Use:           INTEGER  GDSC_SIZE( SET,           Input       character
                                   AXNUM,         Input       integer
                                   ERROR )        In/Out      integer

               GDSC_SIZE     size of axis

               SET           set name      

               AXNUM         axis number  ( 1...naxis )

               ERROR         0  = successful
                            -16 = axis not present
