Re*bility
The reproducibility of processing data using Astro-WISE has been tested for a subset of OmegaCAM data. Since differences between repeatability, replicability, and reproducibility can be confusing, reproducibility here means identical results, produced using identical inputs as stored as metadata in Astro-WISE, by a different person using different hardware and improved software. This software includes more recent versions of the operating system. The data were all reprocessed in January 2019 after they had been initially processed as far back as March 2011.
Identical means that the checksums of all pixel data of the original FITS file as stored in Astro-WISE are the same as the checksums of the resulting FITS file after reprocessing.
A different checksum can still mean that reprocessing gives a similar result, but that will have to be quantified separately.
