Necessary materials to werkcollege

• MySQL manual webpage.

• Sample program to prepare data for ingest: mk_ingest_2mass.py
• Sample program for direct line-by-line ingest: ingest_2mass.py and ingest_usnoa2.py
• Sample program for cross-identification (you should change paths in the program): cross_id.py
• Sample stored function for an angular distance: function.sql
• Sample SQLite Python programs: python_sqlite.py

Additional task - make cross-identification using spatial indices:

• Download htm/healpix library and c++ script: htmhealpix.tgz
• estimate htm and healpix depth you need for 15 arcsec radius of cross-identification
• compile and run convert to create new files with htm and healpix (both ring and nested)
• modify database structure and ingest new files (via ingest script or with single command ingest)
• modify cross-identification script to use htm or healpix

Modified version of comvert.cpp is available here convert.cpp You don't need to modify it, just specify column numbers for RA and DEC as input

To compile convert program do following:

• add to PATH g++ compiler setenv PATH /Users/users/belikov/gcctmp/bin:$PATH
• modify LD_LIBRARY_PATH setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /Users/users/belikov/gcctmp/lib64:/Users/users/belikov/gcctmp/lib
• in Makefile remove -static from line 45
