The biography and this Website are dedicated to the memory of Professor Jacobus Cornelius Kapteyn (1851--1922), who Oort described as `mijn inspireerenden leermeester' (my inspiring mentor), and who laid the foundation for the boom of Dutch astronomy in the twentieth century and --last but not least-- to my wife Corry for her love and support.
