The Star
Formation History of Dwarf Galaxies

Summary:
|
MAGPOP is a Marie Curie Research
Training Network funded under the Sixth Framework
Programme of the EU, running from 1 December 2004 to 1
December 2008. Its objectives are to extract key physical information -
stellar masses, star formation rates, star formation histories,
metallicities, dust content and the incidence of accretion onto central
supermassive black holes - from the spectral energy distributions
(SEDs) of galaxies in the local Universe and at high redshifts.
The first large MAGPOP programme is an observational project to
investigate the star formation history of Dwarf Galaxies. We have been
allocated 12 nights on each of the 4 large telescopes at La Palma (WHT,
INT, TNG and NOT) for various kinds of observations. An abstract of the
