Bulges of Spiral Galaxies

Bulges of spiral galaxies are like the yoke of an egg in the middle of the spiral disk. They are generally red, like elliptical galaxies, and  also show kinematics that resemble them.  Their global parameters, like their radius and surface brightness, also fall on the relations for ellipticals.

In the beginning of the 1990's I have started a project, together with Marc Balcells (now IAC) to study an optically selected sample of bulges in detail. Questions were:
