The Wide Field Imager for the VST at Paranal


OmegaCAM is a 1 square degree wide field, optical, 16k X 16k camera for the VLT Survey Telescope (VST), which is expected to become operational at Paranal in 2008
OmegaCAM is built by a consortium of institutes, which in turn coordinate the contributions of more institutes in the following countries:
- The Netherlands: NOVA, (see also NOVA Public Outreach)Kapteyn Instituut Groningen, OmegaCEN
- Germany: Universitäts-Sternwarte München.
- Italy: Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova.
- The European Southern Observatory.
