So, what is this all about?

On this site I have collected things, which are related to me and which I wanted to share with the world. A bit about my work, lot's of pictures (soon) and maybe some other (psuedo-)random stuff. Enjoy, or not.

About me:

I guess it is unavoidable to put a little introduction on me here. I don't really like that, but I guess you might like to know. Plus, I need to fill this main page with some text to make it look interesting. So, what is there to tell about me. I am Edo Loenen, 28 years old (hmmm... now I am forcing myself to update this site once a year.) and living in Groningen, the Netherlands together with my girlfriend Alicia Berciano Alba. As a matter of fact, the picture above is taken from the balcony of my (10th floor) apartment, overlooking the countryside outside of the city (Yes, I live on the edge of town). I am currently working as a PhD student in astronomy at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute in Groningen. I am studying dense molecular gas in active galaxies, but more on that in my astronomy section.

I am also very fond of science fiction, in particular Dune. So here is a nice quote. And yes, it is random. Try it! Refresh! :)
