My name is Jeffrey Bout and I work at OmegaCEN, the Dutch national expertise center for wide-field astronomical imaging which is located at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of the University of Groningen. My PhD research project is titled: "The interplay between the evolution of galaxies of intermediate mass and quality control of massive datasets". My supervisors are Edwin Valentijn (promotor), Gijs Verdoes Kleijn, and Reynier Peletier. My research project is funded by Target.

My PhD project
I currently work on finding high redshift galaxies. Source lists are generated for the five bands (u, g, r, i, z) of CFHTLS and the five bands (Z, Y, J, H, K) of VIKING. High redshift galaxies will not be visible in the bluest bands (u, g, r).
