Research	I am interested in observational, theoretical and computational astrophysics, in particular their interplay. Currently my main research areas are gravitational lensing, stellar dynamics, galaxy formation and radio astronomy. I am PI of the largest galaxy-scale strong lensing survey to-date, SLACS, and am particularly interested in the mass structure and evolution of early-type galaxies and the level of their mass-substructure (dark and luminous). I am also involved in the development of the Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) and co-PI of the LOFAR Epoch of Reionization (EoR) Key-Science-Project, trying to detect HI emission at redshifts z>6.
Teaching	I have taught a wide variety of course. In 2013 I will teach a course on Radiative Processes and a course on Stellar Physics.
