|
PGCHE
(Post Graduate Course in Higher Education), 2003,
University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. This is a
course of 60 Nottingham credits (corresponding to 0.5
year full-time work) preparing new lecturers for
teaching at University level. The course is meant to
introduce new University lecturers to the academic
environment. The participants are asked to use their
own teaching as a research context for learning about
learning and teaching. Participants' learning is
supported by collegial groups (learning sets), with
input from experienced academics. Learning outcomes
encourage skills development, in a critical context.
One learns about innovation in teaching, and to
critically evaluate one's own teaching.
