- Nov 1998: OmegaCAM APPROVAL from ESO's STC
- 10 Nov 1998: Dutch NOVA board approves OmegaCAM funding (conditionally)
- 20 Apr 1999: NOVA instrument steering committee recommand the NOVA board to go ahead with funding.
- 4 May 1999: ESO's STC recommands:The STC approves the management plan which has been worked out for the VST OmegaCam project and takes note that the technical uncertainties related to the correction of image motion have been eliminated. The STC encourages ESO and the Consortium to proceed speedily with the next phase of the OmegaCam project.
